Emerging Trends in High-Performance Building Enclosures
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the integrative process, how it applies to the LEED v4 BD+C rating system, and its potential to help project teams achieve high-performance design objectives.
- Explain how building energy modeling can be leveraged from the earliest stages of a building project to optimize design solutions and strike synergies in the LEED v4 BD+C rating system.
- Distinguish between operational and embodied carbon in buildings and describe how they complement each other as part of a comprehensive approach to reducing a building project’s total carbon intensity and surpassing target thresholds set for each in the LEED v4 BD+C rating system.
- Define total building commissioning, the framework it entails, the value it offers to building project teams, and how it applies to the LEED v4 BD+C rating system.

This webinar will introduce attendees to five emerging trends in high-performance building enclosure design, construction, and performance verification. This session will introduce attendees to a comprehensive approach to high-performance building projects that may better ensure that ambitious energy and carbon goals are successfully achieved. For each trend, additional resources will be offered. Each trend will also be contextualized in the LEED v4 BD+C rating system.
