This course is part of the Custom Home Academy
Windows and doors play an important role in new home construction and in addressing current residential and custom home design trends. How we design, in fact, affects how we feel and behave within our surroundings. For instance, recent research shows the importance of daylight for human health. Additionally, other factors come into play when selecting windows and doors for a custom home, including current trends, materials, and operating systems. Ultimately, design is a tool that can be used to enhance our humanity. This course will examine the “human factor” influence in fenestration design, as well as trends, materials, and guiding principles for optimizing occupant satisfaction.
