Re-Roof & Recover with Expanded Polystyrene
Learning Objectives:
- Analyze the key physical properties of the different EPS products used in roofing applications.
- Compare the economic advantages of using EPS in different roofing applications to alternative insulations options.
- Explain the features and benefits of different EPS products including: standard, faced, composites and to which roofing applications they are used.
- Identify what components to consider when preparing a specification for EPS vs another insulation product in a roofing application.

This presentation will help attendees analyze the key physical properties of the different EPS products used in roofing applications. Students will compare the economic advantages of using EPS in different roofing applications to alternative insulations options. The course will provide students with the opportunity to investigate the features and benefits of different EPS products: standard, faced, composites and to which roofing applications they are used. At the conclusion, students will identify what components to consider when preparing a specification for EPS vs another insulation product in a roofing application: R-value, compressive strength, product performance and labor costs.
