From exorbitant rains or snowfall to humidity and excessive salt exposure, inclement weather climates provide many opportunities for building failures. In these climates, special consideration must be paid on construction projects—from preparation through post construction maintenance. With so many opportunities for failure due to the way various construction materials react to the environment, there is no room for errors or skipping steps. This presentation covers the considerations for waterproof deck coatings in inclement weather areas, the ever evolving code related to these installations and a checklist that can prevent common oversights which can lead to catastrophic failures.
