Specifically air pressure assisted high-performance toilets were chosen for this illustrious ski resort in Park City, Utah. Crown Plaza Hotel, Glen Ellyn, IL
The Crowne Plaza Glen Ellyn has shifted from a standard hotel operation to a sophisticated, environmentally sound commercial establishment. New ENERGY STAR Qualified Homes Designed for Water Conservation
Standard Pacific Homes, Montalcino, CA
Highly efficient faucets and toilets have become standard in the new ENERGY STAR® qualified homes located in the Montalcino Questa neighborhood in California. Completed in June 2011 by Standard Pacific Homes, Montalcino is a lush community of 73 new sustainable homes. “Standard Pacific Homes pride themselves on building beautiful, high-quality homes for families across the United States and with the help from plumbing fixture manufacturers, the homes at Montalcino allow for extreme water savings,” said Patti Wilbur, sales representative. Montalcino residences were built to use nearly 50 percent less energy compared to a typical re-sale home. In addition to being ENERGY STAR® qualified, all Standard Pacific Homes in the Montalcino community include water-conserving plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems as well as high-efficiency heating and cooling systems. Moreover, these homes host low-VOC interior paint and installed radiant barrier roofing to further reduce energy consumption.
The preferred plumbing fixtures include eco-friendly, High-Efficiency Toilets which focus on water conservation. According to the manufacturer, “This is a prime opportunity for us to help protect valuable water resources in Northern California.”

Architects concerned with green building design or meeting clients’ performance expectations in general understand the need to address water use reduction in buildings. Recognizing that one of the biggest users of water in a building can be the common flush toilet is the first step toward controlling that water usage.
