Interior Inspiration and Innovation
Learning Objectives:
- Evaluate the role of sustainability in contemporary interior design strategies, as demonstrated by the five award-winning featured projects. Analyze the use of eco-friendly materials, lighting, acoustics, and heating and cooling systems, for example, in creating the individual interior environments.
- Explore the role of collaboration and communication in successful interior design projects, drawing on the featured case studies to identify best practices for working with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to achieve a cohesive and harmonious design.
- Examine the relationship between interior design and human psychology. Analyze the use of color, lighting, and special planning to create environments that promote wellness, productivity, and emotional well-being.
- Investigate the use of innovative materials and construction techniques in contemporary interior design, as exemplified in the winning projects. Explore the benefits and drawbacks of using non-traditional materials, such as recycled plastics, reclaimed wood, and bio-based materials, and assess their impact on the design aesthetic and overall project cost.
