The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark civil rights law shaping access to the built environment for more than three decades, continues to influence design across building types and scales. Today, architects and designers are moving beyond baseline compliance to integrate accessibility as a core component of design excellence.

The ADA Academy examines current approaches to accessible and universal design, with an emphasis on code application, detailing, and real-world implementation. With a focus on educational environments, courses address ADA compliance in K–12 schools and higher education facilities, including accessible routes, classrooms, housing, and campus infrastructure, while identifying common compliance gaps and strategies for resolution.

Through project-based insights and code-informed analysis, the Academy highlights how thoughtful design supports inclusive, high-performing environments for all users.
