The pandemic has created enormous change in workplace environments, whether in commercial offices or home offices. It’s still unclear which developments will be lasting, but in the architecture world, the pandemic has helped launch innovative ideas for how to help occupants be healthier, safer and happier in their spaces. Flooring plays a major role in these new workplace trends. This webinar will discuss some of the choices designers are making to meet or exceed the expectations of people working at home or returning to the office. Leah Bauer, an interior designer with HDR, will present the newly modernized interiors at the Gilead Sciences campus in Foster City, in the Bay Area of California. The modernization projects prioritize an engaged workforce and support a high level of innovation, employee engagement and productivity. Elizabeth Bonner, Mohawk Group, will discuss workplaces with differing needs, including healthcare, educational and corporate spaces—and how those environments are responding with flooring that is both practical and aesthetically exciting, and that approach the global health challenge in a positive way.
The presentations will be followed by a moderated discussion focused on how these innovative custom home projects address several key issues.
