BURSI—Roof Insulation and Cover Boards
Learning Objectives:
- Gain a better understanding of both high-density and low-density roofing insulation.
- Review thermal resistance design along with dew point calculation.
- Complete a comparative analysis of all primary low-slope roofing insulations and coverboards.
- Describe tapered insulation and system design.
Credits:
This course takes a look at the insulation systems available and common to the low-slope commercial roofing industry. Attendees will gain a better understanding of high-density protection boards, lower density and higher thermal performance insulation boards and lightweight insulating concrete. Additionally, time will be dedicated to review design considerations including but not limited to thermal resistance design, dew point considerations and vapor retarders, installation best practices and tapered design.
