June CEU Lunch Meeting - Destin

Whether it is new construction, restoration or repair, it is critical to the long term success of any project and to the sustainable performance of any building that the building envelope components be brought together to create an Integrated Building Envelope. This is achieved through the purposeful coordination of the three facets of all projects; Design, Material and Installation. This seminar will define the concept of the building envelope, examine the importance of obtaining an Integrated Building Envelope and explain how the functions of Design, Material and Installation are intimately intertwined and how they can be coordinated. The Sky Factory (Biophilic Illusions)

In this course, we explore our inherent connection and attraction to nature, identified as biophilia. We explore the ways that our lives are dependently and beneficially intertwined with nature. We look at the trend towards Biophilic Design — integrating nature intoarchitecture to enliven biophilia’s restorative properties. Illusion, illusions of nature, and sky illusions will be examined in relationship to architectural design, and Biophilic Design, in particular. Finally, we’ll delve into the purpose, creation, and applications of sky-image ceilings. Click here for more information.
