Jared Zurn served in the role of Vice President, Examination, since 2013, overseeing all aspects of the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) including the development, operations, security, and implementation of ARE 5.0. Promoted to Sr. Vice President in 2024, Jared collaborates across NCARB on the evolution of programs that support licensure and the ongoing development of licensure processes for the future.

  1. Apply the 16 new competencies in self-evaluation of their work performance to ensure proper public protection.
  2. Lead others using the competencies as a framework by which to perform quality assurance of work collaborators to ensure health and safety factors requirements are achieved throughout a project.
  3. Explain how the newly defined competencies will be integrated into initial and continuing licensure requirements in the coming years to ensure all who hold a license to practice architecture remain qualified to protect the public.
