A Planning Guide for Accessible Restrooms

This course covers the basic scoping and technical details for accessible restrooms as defined by the ADA Federal Standards and ANSI 117.1.  It covers the critical changes from the ANSI 117.1 2009 and 2017 versions as many states have adopted the latter through their building codes.  Above and beyond the required standards, concepts of Universal Design will be discussed as an approach to accommodating all forms of disabilities.  The presentation also includes some "red flags" on areas to exercise caution in design due to civil rights lawsuits.
