Sponsored by AIA Kansas
Each year, AIA Kansas hosts a gathering place for multidisciplinary discourse and discovery, bringing together thought leaders in architecture and design from around the region and beyond to learn and explore together. This year’s conference will offer a diverse range of continuing education sessions and programming on the issues and opportunities that position architects and allied professionals to improve communities through design work. Notable sessions highlighting community engagement and celebrating community-focused design will feature upcoming 2019 President of the Institute, Bill Bates, FAIA; Anne Marie Duvall Decker, FAIA; and a continuing education session track specifically focused on community engagement, leadership and design.
The event will also feature building and community tours around Overland Park and networking opportunities at the opening Design Awards Celebration and at the closing networking social. Pre-conference events will feature two options for hands-on learning and engagement at the community disaster assessment training workshop and a Community Engagement Workshop. The Community Engagement Workshop was developed specifically to share resources and strategies with architects and community leaders as they think about their community development vision and goals.
We invite all architects, allied professionals, community leaders, business community members, and policymakers to join us in a diverse mix of educational programs, workshops, and networking events.
