Facade design is no longer just about aesthetics. With glassfibre reinforced concrete (GFRC), modern design, thoughtful functionality and energy efficiency can be perfectly combined, giving a building’s exterior a unique identity.
GFRC elements are far more than a decorative element. They are a functional part of contemporary, energy-efficient architecture: sculptural in appearance, intelligent in function and sustainable in impact. Their benefits go well beyond aesthetics: sun protection, weather resistance, durability, fire resistance, only 13 mm thin, lightweight, easy installation and minimal maintenance.
This lightweight solution is ideal for replacing precast elements and is increasingly important in renovation and retrofitting projects. By extending the lifespan of buildings, GFRC elements reduce the need for frequent replacements and minimize long-term resource consumption, further enhancing their eco-friendly profile. At the same time, GFRC offers extensive design possibilities with a wide range of colors, textures and 3D shapes, enabling creative and highly individualized facades.
This course will provide insights into the performance, versatility and environmental benefits of GFRC facades. Participants will gain practical insights into current facade trends, innovative design options, sustainable building practices and holistic approaches for durable, functional and visually striking building envelopes.
