LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  1. Evaluate privacy performance criteria for restroom partition systems, including sightline elimination, door overlap specifications, and vertical coverage standards that enhance occupant dignity and psychological comfort in public facilities.
  2. Apply ADA compliance requirements specific to privacy elements in accessible restroom design, including proper sightline protection, door placement, and partition configuration that meets both accessibility and privacy mandates.
  3. Analyze California building code provisions for restroom privacy, including Assembly Bill 1732 requirements and privacy standards that inform partition selection for projects subject to state-specific regulations.
  4. Specify appropriate partition systems based on project-specific privacy needs by comparing full-height phenolic, integrated privacy strips, ultimate privacy door configurations, and overlapping pilaster designs that support occupant health, safety, and welfare.
