The New Social Security: Co-Housing for Seniors

This panel explores examples of co-housing for seniors in urban environments and stresses the role of design in discussions about senior housing alternatives. The program will also explore how co-housing can address accessibility and sustainability, and how co-housing spaces can enhance benefits to elders.

Carole Agate, Senior Resident of Cornerstone Cohousing in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Grace Kim, Architect, Founding Principal, Schemata Workshop in Seattle, Washington. Grace has completed cohousing projects and has served on the board of The Cohousing Association, a national not-for-profit organization.
Jim Leach, President, Wonderland Hill Development Company (WHDC), Boulder, Colorado. WHDC has been developing cohousing communities in the western United States for over 20 years.

Patrick B. Han, Principal, Office ESC. Patrick has served as the Board Vice President (2012-2015) of The Cohousing Association, a national not-for-profit organization.
