Tour: McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Musuem

This Live Event happened on September 5, 2018 (5:00pm - 6:30pm CST)

Friends of the Chicago River opened the seasonal McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum in 2006 to provide new access and understanding of the dynamic relationship between Chicago and its river. Today, the Bridgehouse Museum stands as the cultural anchor of the new Chicago Riverwalk and welcomes tens of thousands of visitors every summer. Exhibits celebrate Chicago's river and world-famous movable bridges, and visitors learn why it is important to protect the river and how to participate in its renaissance. The museum includes a view of the moving gears asof the adjacent Michigan Avenue bridge leaf.

We will offer three tours, each of which will take ten people:

  • 5:15 pm
  • 5:35 pm
  • 5:55 pm
After receiving your registration, you will be sent an email asking which tour time you prefer.

We will socialize on riverwalk plaza from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

Tours will be led by:

  • Terry Sullivan. AIA (Johnson Lasky Kindelin Architects) and Museum Committee Member
  • Patrick McBriarty (PTM Werks Inc.) and Museum Committee Member
